The busiest days finished just now, but new thing will be started. Anyway, I like the feeling of developing myself.... However, I still have to know 'Gains will lose'..do not want to get everything one time!~~~

Interview again

Tomorrow I will face an informal interview again, also a placement work, which means it's a unpaid work. To be honest, no one like an unpaid work when he/she can have a choice. However, for me there is no choice, as a student whitout more experience and sound knowledge, the most important thing is gainning more experience, at the same time broaden your networking, learn more through these work experience and the people you meet.

Cherish every chance I encounter, and no regret.

Real start

So tide I am today~Not only for the work, but also for the about 4-hours journey!

However, I think it is a worthy chance, which can be regarded as my point of starting. Actually, I know I lacks of sound knowledge about the art market, as well as the art history, so, it's crucial for me to gain more experience, no matter from the practical or knowledge from books.

Through the day's work, I also found some points I have to improve soon, English and the general knowledge about runing a gallery even a museum. For the commercial gallery, most of them are private, they do the thing such as holding an exhibition for the emerging artists, are for the main purpose of making the profits. However, for the public gallery, it usually have the aim of promoting the art education to the public through making use of the public tax and the sponsor from the grovenment. To be honest, I like the runing way of public gallery, which enjoy more significant influence than the small organization, but I also know it's very hard to do something for your dream in public organization, because it realated to more complicated thing then the small private gallery.

Anyway, It is not the time for me to choice, just see more, know more, then I can get hoe can I do is the effective way to make a dream come ture.

New start

Coming back from the Museum of Richmond just now, I have some thought about the conversation betweent the curator and me.

Before starting to curate an exhibition, as a curator, you should have researched the theme of this exhibition, and equipped with the sound knowledge about it, then you can find an appropriate way to show them. That is the basic point for a curator, no matter whether the size of the exhibition is big or small.

However, the specific mission for the corator within the different museums or galleries to some extent is different, which depends on the size of the work place and the level of the organization as well. Take the Museum of Richmond for example. It is a small sized museum indeed, so, the work of curator is not only doing research on the theme of the coming exhibition but also some bits and pieces, such as collecting the information , printing, sticking and so forth. Compared with this, the work of the curator within a big organization should not as so wide as the small one. They must be an expert on some area with the sound konwledge, they needn't take care about so many trivial things but can do the whole plan on the exhibition nearby.

Anyway, for me, lacking the required knowledge and the organizational skills so far. There is just a start for me, as a good cleaner and a painter for a small gallery.

Some finished while some start~

In the afternoon, we say good bye to all the assessment, for which we work hard more then two weeks, of course it's just a small part of our destination, some thing finished means some thing will start.

May be just a short break, because I still have my dream, and it clearer day by day. Some of my friends always said to me do not try to be emulative all the times, or you must be so tired, I have thought of that, but I still can not stop my step, because of my dream, which made me feel full of energy every time I think about it, and it's also a happy thing when you pay sweat for them, especially when you see the result, you could find the sense of achievement will exceed every thing and made you forget how hard you were~

Hopefully, it's a good end, and then I will begin by a nice start!~~~
